USD 300, fifteen pedal-operated machines, and one man's conviction — this is how Link Up Textiles grew into a 3,000-strong garment house trusted by the UK's biggest retailers.
USD 300, fifteen pedal-operated machines, and one man's conviction — this is how Link Up Textiles grew into a 3,000-strong garment house trusted by the UK's biggest retailers.
In 1995, Mr. Sundharam founded Link Up Textiles in Chennai with a minimal investment of USD 300 as capital and 15 pedal-operating machines. That first year, turnover was under one million dollars.
By 2024–25, annual sales had grown to around USD 35 million. Today the company employs around 3,000 people across 5 SEDEX-certified factories, produces a million garments, a million metres of woven fabric and 600 tonnes of jersey every month, weaves ~90% of its own woven fabric at its Salem mill, and — since 2020 — produces internationally through operations in Vietnam and Bangladesh. Through it all, one principle has guided every decision: Caring the Community.

To attain customer satisfaction by delivering the best, utilizing the highest quality of resources and world-class systems. We are committed to manufacture, supply and export quality products — serving our customers with dedication and offering customized products with quality assurance.
Link Up is committed to be consistent in the upliftment and improvement of both products and responsibilities towards its employees. We keep striving hard to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction.
"Do it right first time and every time" — a defect-free culture involving every member of staff.
Improving the quality of life of our workers and contributing to sustainable development in our regions.
SEDEX-audited factories, employee benefits aligned with regulations, and honest partnerships.
From pedal machines to 3D sampling — we adopt whatever helps us serve customers better.
Mr. Sundharam founds Link Up Textiles in Chennai with USD 300 capital and 15 pedal-operating machines — first-year turnover under USD 1 million.
A 2-acre, 600-machine plant opens at Sipcot Industrial Park, Irungattukottai — today producing 375,000 garments a month.
A 35,000 sq ft unit with 200 machines adds 200,000 garments a month of boxers, tees and nightwear capacity.
A 1.5-acre, 250-machine jersey specialist unit comes online with 275,000 garments a month of capacity.
Production operations established in Vietnam and Bangladesh, extending flexibility for global programs.
USD 35M in sales, 1,200+ machines and a million garments a month — and the same founder's discipline on every line.

Every great mill begins with a maker. Mr. Sundharam started with fifteen pedal-operated machines and a belief that Chennai could clothe the world's high streets.
Three decades later, that belief employs over 3,000 people across three Indian states and two international operations — and still shows up in the company's founding principle of Caring the Community: improving the quality of life of the people who make every garment.
